It’s been a rough couple of weeks. I woke up one morning (about 2 weeks ago) unable to move…My neck and entire left trapezius muscle was one big knotted cramp. I was in so much pain that I actually had my husband come home from work to take me to get it looked at. Once at the chiropractic office, just the slight touch of his hands on my neck sent me off the table. I immediately went to the urgent care to get a steroid & pain relief shot. Over the course of the next two weeks I would have A.R.T (active release technique) twice, another visit to urgent care and two sessions at the chiropractic office. I went through a steroid pack and two bottles of pain pills. The knots and the pain slowly went away and I’m still having some discomfort turning my head to the left. I’m still unable to swim and have had to find alternate ways to workout. I’ve gone through a bout of depression being in so much pain and not being able to train. Doubts and panic kept creeping into my head when I would think about Ironman Arizona. I’m still on the mend, but through prayer and an attitude adjustment I’m on the road back.
