Ironman Diary 6.16.13

My legs were still a little sore today after yesterday’s hilly boot run — but I bit the hair of the dog and went for a group ride with some friends.

We did 33.7 miles on the Natchez Trace. The Trace is beautiful! We rode straight out to a designated point where we meet up SAG vehicle AKA my family.

It took us 2:10:00 which made our pace about 15.5 miles per hour — I’m very happy with it considering the terrain we were riding. I burned 1,700 calories — or should I say “beers!”

I had my faithful triathlon coach, Katie with me and some good friends. I love the discomfort of a bike ride, I’m still waiting for that feeling to click with running.
