HERO
(Helping Others Realize Opportunity)
This weeks HERO is Scott Rigsby
By all account when you first see Scott Rigsby you would never think he was a triathlete no less an IronMan Kona finisher (2.2 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run).
Why? Because, Scott is a double amputee.
In 2006 Scott lost a leg in a freak car accident, years later Scott would have the other leg removed due to pain and complications.
Scott decided to turn his mess into a message…. On October 11, 2011 Scott Rigsby crossed the finish line at the 2011 Ford Ironman World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. He completed the race in 16 hours and 22 minutes. Scott dedicated this race toward raising $50,000 for his foundation and Wounded Warriors.
